Pet Friendly Resort: Under Canvas Zion

Are you looking for a unique, pet friendly accommodation that provides you a taste of the great outdoors with the comfort of home? Look no further, Under Canvas Zion provides you all that and so much more. My best friend and I, along with our pups had the most wonderful stay glamping in the beautiful Utah desert that neighbors Zion National Park. The peacefulness, tranquility and awe-inspiring landscapes were just what we were looking for.

Under Canvas has a variety of tents to choose from depending on what type of accommodation you are looking for. We stayed in a Safari Tent. This cabin style tent has a king bed that is so comfortable. You will wake up well rested for your adventures the next day. This tent also has a wood burning stove with stocked wood for those chilly nights. In the summer months you will also find a misting system and fan in your tent to help you stay cool. You will find chairs right outside the tent to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape that surrounded you. There are no outlets in your tent. They do have battery packs if your electronics need an extra charge and lanterns to use inside or outside at night.

Depending on the type of tent you call home, you either have private bathrooms inside your tent or will have access to the communal bathrooms as we did. Just a short walk from your tent, the communal bathroom has private toilets, sinks and hot showers. Each bathroom is stocked with towels and does have basic toiletries to use.

Under Canvas has a pet fee of $25 fee per pet, per night. Dogs must be kept on leash and of course you need to make sure to clean up after them. Pets are not to be left unattended in your tent at any time. They are welcome everywhere throughout the grounds. Your dogs will love their glamping experience and are sure to get so much attention by the staff and other guests.

There is no shortage of activities to enjoy while visit Under Canvas.

  • Yoga - Enjoy sunrise or sunset yoga surround by the beautiful landscape.

  • Board Games - In the hospitality tent, they have a variety of board games that you can enjoy.

  • Live Music - Enjoy live music under a starry lit sky.

  • Campfire – Next to the hospitality tent, there is a communal fire pit where you can enjoy complimentary S’mores or just a relaxing evening by the fire.

  • Volleyball - There is a sand volleyball court onsite.

  • Nature Walk - Enjoy a nature walk right from the property.

Talk to the adventure department at Under Canvas if you are looking for other activities outside the camp. They can offer suggestions and assist with booking excursions for you.

There is an onsite café-style restaurant called Embers. You can enjoy breakfast, dinner and a selection of beer and wine daily. They also offer boxed lunches that you can take to go on your daily adventures. Just make sure you order the day before. There are also covered picnic tables with gas grills next to the hospitality tent for guests to use as well. In the lobby tent you will also find complimentary coffee and tea 24/7.

Wi-Fi and Cell Phone Service

Be prepared to disconnect and step away from your phone. Cell service is extremely limited, and they do not offer Wi-Fi. This is a time for you to connect with nature and those around you.

There are water stations inside the hospitality tent. Make sure you bring your reusable bottles or bladders to help reduce waste.

Under Canvas Zion was hands and paws down one of the best pet friendly accommodations we have stayed at. Aside from the wonderful resort and spectacular view, the staff was so incredible. Under Canvas also has other locations throughout the U.S. You can check out the other camps here.

We are looking forward to staying again and visiting the other camps soon.
